Emsella™
Non-Invasive Incontinence Therapy for Men
What is Emsella™?
Simply put, a Groundbreaking Non-Invasive Treatment for Incontinence
BTL EMSELLA™ stimulates the entire pelvic floor region and musculature by rehabilitating weak pelvic muscles and restoring neuromuscular control. The technology provides men with an easy, effective and completely non-invasive treatment option, empowering them to address an often private health issue that can dramatically impact their quality of life.
The “chair” design of the device itself allows men to remain fully clothed for treatment, with no pain or downtime, so patients can walk out immediately following treatment.
Many factors that can affect male issues with incontinence and bladder leakage. The primary cause is related to the prostate. An enlarged prostate can be a factor in male incontinence as well as having had a prostatectomy and other treatments for prostate cancer.
There are also a number of other factors that can contribute to male incontinence, including but not limited to, certain neurological disorders, being overweight, smoking and even family history.
Each chair session is 28 minutes long and delivers the equivalent of 11,800 kegels. Most male patients will go through a series of 6 to 8 treatments.
How does it work?
Harnessing the power of HIFEM (High-Intensity Focused Electromagnetic) technology, BTL EMSELLA™ stimulates the entire pelvic floor at once—with a single session providing thousands of supramaximal pelvic floor muscle contractions, comparable to thousands of Kegels. Supramaximal pelvic floor muscle contractions are extremely important in muscle re-education of incontinent patients. Each session is 28 minutes long and delivers the equivalent of 11,800 kegels.

Does Emsella™ Really Work?
This treatment works very quickly, and you should see some improvement in your bladder control after you get your first treatment. As you continue to receive additional sessions, your leakage, accidents, and other urinary problems should gradually decrease.
Who is a Good Candidate for Emsella™?
A good Emsella candidate is a relatively healthy adult with a desire to strengthen their pelvic floor muscles. Women often seek this treatment because stress urinary incontinence (SUI) often occurs after pregnancy, especially if the baby was delivered vaginally.
How Often Should you do Emsella™?
Two treatments are scheduled each week, for three consecutive weeks. There must be 2-3 days between each treatment session. After the initial series of 6 treatments, patients may need enhancement treatments every 1 to 6 months depending on the severity of urinary incontinence and desired results.
Does Emsella™ Help with Bowel Incontinence?
By targeting the pelvic floor muscles with High-Intensity Focused Electromagnetic (HIFEM) technology, BTL Emsella™ stimulates the muscles, tightens the pelvic floor and gives you back control of your bowels.
How Long Does it Take to Improve Pelvic Floor Strength?
After 4 to 6 weeks, most people notice some improvement. It may take as long as 3 months to see a major change. After a couple of weeks, you can also try doing a single pelvic floor contraction at times when you are likely to leak (for example, while getting out of a chair).
