Exhausted no matter how much you sleep. Cold when everyone else is comfortable. Gaining weight while eating the same. Hair thinning, constipated, foggy. And your doctor said your thyroid labs were “normal.”
I hear this story constantly. Here’s the thing: a single TSH test doesn’t tell the whole story of your thyroid.
A more complete thyroid assessment
Your thyroid doesn’t work alone — it needs iodine, selenium, iron, and healthy conversion of T4 into active T3, and it can be disrupted by stress, inflammation, and autoimmunity. A thorough assessment looks at the fuller picture:
- Complete symptom and history review (thyroid symptoms overlap with perimenopause and iron deficiency — sorting that out matters)
- Review of existing labs, with discussion of whether additional testing would clarify things
- Assessment of the factors that affect thyroid function: nutrition, stress, sleep, gut health
How I support thyroid health
Foundations first: the nutrients your thyroid needs, blood-sugar balance, stress management, and sleep — because a thyroid under constant stress can’t do its job. Where appropriate, targeted supplements. And if medication is part of your picture, I work with that — my job is to help you feel better within your full health context, not to replace your medical doctor.
If autoimmune thyroid issues (like Hashimoto’s) are in the picture, we address the immune and inflammation side too, not just the hormone numbers.
